How to send your complaint
Find the Grievance Redressal Officer’s email address on your lender’s website (usually on a page called “Grievance redressal” or “Contact us”). Send the letter by email, keep a copy, and note the complaint or ticket number you receive.
Attach evidence where you can: call recordings, screenshots of messages, a call log with dates and times, and names of any witnesses.
If the lender doesn’t resolve it
If you don’t get a reply within 30 days, or you are not satisfied with it, you can complain to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman online at cms.rbi.org.in. If the app or company is not regulated by the RBI, you can report it on the RBI’s Sachet portal (sachet.rbi.org.in).
If you receive threats of violence, or your photos or personal data are misused, report it to the police or on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in, helpline 1930) without delay.
Questions about this tool
Will a complaint stop my lender from recovering the loan?
No. The lender can still recover what is owed through lawful means. A complaint is about stopping harassment, not about cancelling the debt.
Should I include my full account number?
Use only the last four digits. That is enough for the lender to identify the account, and it protects you if the letter is forwarded.
